GREAT couple of days at Sandrock Alabama...
Day 1: After the rain had moved out the rock dried quickly with a stiff breeze blowing through the formations. We were thankful that after we got going the sun broke through to warm us up. We worked four routs...My Dog Has Fleas (5.9-), Bird in hand (5.8) Louis traversed and set-up a top rope on Marks menace (5.8+), and we finished up the day on That Eight (5.8) on the other side of the Holiday Block. About halfway through the climbing action we paused to have a birthday celebration (for Stacey) complete with cup cakes, a balloon, and song right next to the crag.

Day 2: We got an earlier start down at the New Wall. We set up three ropes there to get warmed up on. Bogos (5.7), Binted (5.7+), and The Thing (5.8-). Then we moved on up to the Sun Wall to re-visit our old challenges Golden Flake (5.9+) And Windows (5.8+).

I was struck by the improvement we have made in just six months of climbing. We could not have asked for a nicer couple days to be climbing.
