It was a memorable morning! We felt so lucky to have the sun come out soon after our hike started - - but the wind! It was so strong at time that outerwear kept coming off and getting put on again. We had planned to have a picnic lunch in the pavilion at the end of the parking lot, but there was no way anything would stay on the tables. We shifted our lunch site to a pretty platform beside the woods where the wind wasn't a problem.

We had a few minor creek crossings, but they were easy with rock hopping available. The trails were surprisingly free of horse droppings considering that the weekend would have been a busy time to ride.

We were happy to meet Gerrilyn's daughter, Rachel, who was visiting from NY. And how nice to have Sharon back for her second AOC hike in two days!
