After introductions in the Bowmans Island parking lot, we headed toward the Bowmans Island Trail. We hiked south along the Chattahoochee River. We stopped at Buford Trout Hatchery and We decided to take a tour; an employee was feeding to Trout and took time to explain how the hatchery worked to us. It takes about 2 years for the trout to grow and be released. We returned to the parking lot, took a brief break to delayer, and use the restrooms, we then headed for Laurel Ridge Trail, we crossed the bridge below Buford Dam and started hiking on the Laurel Ridge Trail. A stop at Lower Overlook Park to enjoy the views and back around toward the Chattahoochee River. We returned to the parking lot the way we came.

I would like to thank Ed for joining us on his first AOC event, Judith for her fifth, Tonya for her eight, and Nathelie for her ninth event. I can’t forget the rest of our group for making them feel welcome.
