Oh, the Brave Hearts! We had a full group of 15 before today's forecast . . . but from what I could see of the weather map, the rain would stop just in time for our 10 am hike - - and stop it did! Our group picture shoes some of us in t-shirts without any rain protection.

The hike itself was interesting. The clouds rolled in and the clouds rolled out, always teasing us of imminent rain. However, we had a dry hike and got in 5.5 miles on surprisingly dry trails. We even completed the lollipop without any mud.

Harley and Allan had an actual race up the last 30-40 feet of the warm up hill, and even though Harley threw a bottle foul to thwart Allan, Allan was first by just a smidgen. Allan kindly called it a "draw" (he's British, you know), so we'll say it was really, really close.

Lee's GPS showed 5.5 miles, which was just fine for this humid day. ~ Joyce
