Write Up:
Well, the weather was pretty unstable during the first half of the hike.  We didn't get rained on, but there were storms rolling around us.

To the south the views were nice and clear, but to the north you could see that it was raining.  Determined to get our hike in, we proceeded with caution.

Above the parking lot we did encounter a close lightning strike at which time I temporarily canceled the event.  After that things seemed more stable, so we pressed on. 

Temps had fallen a great deal making it almost perfect for hiking.  Within an hour we were standing around Burnt Hickory Road.  After a small break we headed back and got our power hike in.

I was very impressed with the over attitude of the group today.  Most people drop when it's raining prior to the hike, but very few did today.  One might end up with 4 or 5 hikers at the most in general, but we had 13!  That showed good spirit.

Let's do it again soon, but perhaps without the weather disturbances :-)
