We had a great hike around Sope Creek, remaining inside the unit, taking a counter-clockwise loop with a stop at the ruins. We attempted to hike the trail on the other side of the creek, but it was way too thick with poison ivy encroaching on the trail. No need to expose our folks to that!

The sky was bright, the air relatively low in humidity, and the temperature very moderate. At our comfortable pace, it was perfect weather.

It was Joy's first time to see the ruins, so it was well worth the stop there. We met Fran on the trail, having started without her. So glad she caught up with us. And I was happy to meet Steve B., an AOC hiker and biker! ~ Joyce
