Last night's rain made all the creeks of Mason Mill and Lullwater run high, strong and muddy. Again, we were thwarted in our attempt to reach Ira B. Melton. Creek level was so high we could not see any of the stepping stones across. We did see two giant turtles crossing the path at Lullwater as well as a couple of deer, a heron, and a mama duck with her ducklings. We did 8.7 miles in under 3 hours for an average moving pace of 3.3 mph! No first timers to the park but a few hitting the trails off the Path for the first time. Wonderful job all!
