It was so hot today! The pace was slowed a bit (we hiked about 5.3 miles), but we took several water breaks and stopped a few minutes to greet the Renegades in the Visitor Center parking lot. It's always so nice to be able to grab hugs from them . . . and then to see them again on the trail, as we did today.

Today was Dolores's birthday! She let me know in advance that she chose to hike with us today, so I was able to bring the Happy Birthday poster to grab a couple of pre-hike photos. (Happy Brithday, Dolores!)

It was a great group today. So nice to hear all the chatter throughout the hike from members catching up on each others' events. This hike is truly a social one - - it provides a chance to get in a little exercise while making connections with friends. It's my favorite event of each week.

Thanks to Lee for his excellent photo additions to the album. I took a really mediocre photo of the cormorants in the mist on the river - - but thankfully, Lee took a really good one, which is included in the album. ~ Joyce
