This event turned out to be a lot of fun.  We started with a short hike on the 2 miles of nature trails and then walked past some campgrounds and cabins out to Brantley Lake,  After a quick stop there, we went back to the cars and headed over to the main event, the open house for the Hard Labor Creek Observatory.

There were several telescopes set up outside and then they had the two large ones focused on some different celestial targets...the moon, Jupiter, some N13 globular cluter, etc.   It was a cool evening and at least a couple hundred people were there...so felt like you were waiting in line for a ride at times.  But well worth it and will do this one again next spring.
