Cold + clear + crisp morning = 4....Decatur parks. This cold, crisp morning put a spring in our steps this morning at Mason Mill, Lullwater, Ira B. Melton and Hahn Woods. The goal was 8 miles and 5 parks in 3 hours. We did 9 miles and 4 parks (we skipped Medlock) in 2.75 hours. That's a pace of 3.3 mph, well over my estimate. This was a fast and fit group who stayed together for the whole hike. The temperature was wonderful for hiking and viewing the last bit of color and the leaves. And we saw a heron in South Peachtree Creek - the largest I recall ever seeing We welcomed Jack on his 6th hike with the AOC and hope to see more of him on the trails. And the holidays are officially off.....
