Only a two Heron day. The first we walked up on it, it took to flight about the moment we saw it and the second did let us take it’s picture. When we started the temperatures were in the high-40’s and warmed up very quickly. We headed upriver until we hit the rocks and turned around. We then went south until we came to the construction area. From there we looped back to the connector trail, took the short loop on the right as we returned and headed back to the parking lot. With the new members we talked about the helicopter landing area and why the road was partially paved, the beach, the view of the East Palisades, Blood Mountain, Lighting Rock, and the beaver holes.
