Write Up:
When I arrived at Kennesaw Mountain it was raining and thundering, and there was a huge black cloud overhead.  Soon after I got out of the car though, it stopped raining.  The big cloud was still overhead, but it was holding onto its water while we hiked :-)

It was very hot and humid today, along with the potentially bad weather, yet 18 out of the 20 registered showed up!  I was very close to having to postpone the hike, but the thunder stopped and we were able to get going on time at 6:00 PM on the nose.

We spread out pretty well due to the different speed levels, but people tended to group up as always and socialize along the way.  The views of the weather around us were pretty spectacular from the tops of the mountains today.

Within an hour most of us were at Burnt Hickory Road, which meant it was time to start heading back since we really try to get out of the park by 8:00 PM if we can.  Again we spread out a bit on the way back as well.

I got a chance to talk to a ranger when he was coming by a bit after 8:00 PM to lock the doors to the visitor's center.  He was a very nice guy, and didn't seem to mind that we were still coming off the mountain after closing time.  That was nice.

We all got our hikes in today.  It was a sweaty, humid situation, but felt just right after it was done.  :-)

Let's do it again sometime.  I never tire of climbing this mountain.  Well, almost never anyway.
