We met at 10:15 at the Red Top Mountain State Park Visitor Center. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. As we started hiking, we had sunshine, blue skies, and wonderful fall colors. We hiked the Homestead Loop. It was a fairly easy trail with nice views of the Lake Allatoona. We didn’t get to see any deer but we saw some beautiful scenery. We stopped for lunch part way through the hike. The woods were really peaceful and pretty. After wandering through the woods for a little over 5 miles, we found ourselves back at the visitor’s center and our cars. After a bit more conversation, everyone headed back to Atlanta, a little bit more tired and a little bit happier.
