Write Up:

Oh, what a beautiful morning! The weather report called for cold air (40-45 degrees during our hike) with a stiff breeze of 15 mph; however, it promised sunny skies, which was enough to ensure a very comfortable hike once we completed the warm-up hill. And sure-enough, the rest of the hike was great, even enough for us to work up a little sweat.

I was very proud of Marge who attempted and successfully completed her first faster-paced hike after having done 9 moderate D2's. Good job, Marge!

A pipe leak in one of the buildings by the Visitor Center has caused flooding in the meadow for the past three weeks as water is being pumped out of the building. Hopefully, the meadow will soon be dry, as it's a slushy mess right now.

Lee's GPS documented 5.7 miles today, a good workout considering the several stops we made for photos, clothing de-layering, and water breaks.

Lee took lots of great photos to add to the album. We'll miss him and Shirley as they vacation in California. ~ Joyce
