What a wonderful time our fabulous group of six hikers had in the mountains around Clayton, Georgia! We had three days of hard hikes to build our stamina followed by a day of rewarding waterfalls. On day one, Thursday, we hiked from Warwoman Dell to Rock Mountain and Pinnacle Knob. While it was planned for 11 miles, we found that one trail we were going to use as a shortcut no longer exists, so we ended up doing 14 miles with 3,000 feet of climbing for our first D5.

On Friday, our second day, we did an epic hike of 20 miles with over 4,000 feet of climbing, from Warwoman Dell to Jack's Creek Falls at the Chatooga River, the boarder between Georgia and South Carolina. We took a refreshing dip in the river before our return hike, feeling more refreshed that seems humanly possible!

On day three, Saturday, we hiked 11 miles with 2,500 feet of climbing to Rabun Bald and Flynt Knob on the Bartram Trail. We came to appreciate the cushion-soft trail and we had fabulous views. We all felt so good from our epic hike to Jack's River Falls that we felt like this was a recovery hike!

On our way back to town, we found some payback for our hard work at three waterfalls and a stop at Tallulah Gorge State Park, where we got some distant waterfall views. I think everyone came back from this adventure stronger than before, and wanting to go back!
