Write Up:
Well I don’t normally do this but it’s a new hike for the club so here goes. 6 club members did a blend of CRNA parks and flat trails in Roswell. It felt like a hybrid of a hike and an urban hike. The lake at Gold Branch was busting its banks almost, the river walk was teeming with wildlife. We caught some shade for lunch in Riverside park and hit the trails at Vickery seeing the weir, the waterfall and the covered bridge. We hiked a little extra in Vickery Creek which pushed our mileage to 16.24 but we kept an overall great pace at 3.1 mph registering on my Strava. I delighted in the fact that the nature center bridge on our jaunt back was full of young kids - possible future nature lovers and hikers. On the way back we did hit some sun with no shade on the river walk and Ann had a great idea that the parking could be in the middle, head to Gold Branch and back first half, Vickery and back second half and beat the heat. Everyone was in great spirits and we initiated a newer member Amit to a nice long hike and a solid D4 rating on his profile. Thanks all, it was a lovely group and we finished smack bang on time despite the extra mileage. If I was tecchy enough to add some pics I would but oh well……….
