Write Up:

Thanks to Ann for driving the carpool to the Woody Gap to Jarrard Gap hike yesterday and for co-leading with me on my second "Potential Trip Leader" hike. The forecast had looked rainy but we managed to hike the 11.2 miles without a downpour. We still got a little wet - mainly from the overhead canopy. The trail was quiet, slightly muddy in places, but Jay noted that the path had a "mystical quality," like hiking in a rain forest. The view from Preacher's Rock was foggy so we didn't get a view of the mountains. The temperature was great for hiking - a little cool but not cold. Overall, it was a great hiking experience. Everyone was well prepared and in good shape for the hike . . . and there were no falls or accidents despite the wet rocks!
