The weather map said rain, maybe. As we started the hike, we had sunshine starting to break through the clouds. By the end of the hike, it was mostly sunny. We met at the Overflow parking lot, did introductions, and hiked to the Visitor Center. We did the Environmental Trail in a clockwise director until we came to the 24 Gun Trail. We followed the 24 Gun Trail to Gilbert Road, turned around and returned to the Visitor Center. We stopped briefly at several spots to talk about the trails or the history.

One thing of note. Stilesboro Road at Old Mountain Road is Closed. Coming from Barret Parkway you can turn right onto Gilbert Road. Stilesboro Road is closed between Gilbert Road and Old Mountain Road for waterline replacement.
