Well, we have proof of the power of positive thinking. I had asked all the hikers signed up for today's hike at Bowmans Island to think positive thoughts about the weather for today's hike and we ended up with no rain at all during the hike. It was definately a perfect day for a hike. The lower trails were a bit muddy, but overall, the trails were in good shape. We hiked 6.2 miles with 500 feet of elevation in 2 1/2 hours. We also had no falls, which was pretty amazing. For the first time in a while, I had no newbies on this hike, so I created a new catagory called a Drewbie. That's for people who have 10 or more hikes overall, but less than 10 with me. Harry was on his 2nd hike with me, Mary on her 3rd, Gwen on her 5th, Mike on his 7th, Jean on her 8th, and Laura was on her 10th which makes her the first graduate of the Drewbie class of 25. Congratulations to you all. It was a muddy but very fun hike.
A special thanks to Joyce for sending me the great pictures she took of the hike. You can view them by clicking the album icon above.
