We had 12 really determined hikers today at Bowmans Island.  All I can say is that it was really, really hot. We covered 6.4 miles with 450 feet of elevation in 2:20. A job well done by all.  There are still some muddy areas along the trail, but they were mostly in good condition. We stopped along the river whenever there was a cool breeze for a water break.  It was appreciated by all. We saw 2 young deer along the way. 

Everybody had done a good job hydrating yesterday, and we made several extra water stops, so we all held up pretty well.  It did get really quiet for about the last mile though. Me included.
