Tue, Jul 22 2025 - Bowmans Island (View Original Event Details)
| ![]() |
We had 7 hikers on our hot and humid day at Bowmans Island this morning. I slowed the pace down a bit to allow for the hot conditions. We covered 6.2 miles with 456 feet of elevation at a 2.6 mph pace. That was a very good pace under the conditions. The trails were in good condition with only a few muddy spots on the river trail. On one of the upper trails we saw a baby deer that still had it's spots. We also saw a really big Great Blue Heron take off from the river and fly past us. That kind of stuff is always great to have on a hike. Lots of talking and laughing, so I think everybody had a good time.
