We had 15 hikers at Mulberry Creek this morning at meet time, but one of the hikers forgot their hiking shoes and had to drop off at the last second.  It can happen. So, we had 14 hikers who were determined to beat the heat on this very hot morning.  The water was very low in the creek, so crossing it 14 times was very easy. I slowed the pace down a bit because of the heat, but we covered 5.2 miles with 380 feet of elevation at a pace of 2.5 mph. A job well done under the hot conditions. We had 2 newbies on the hike today.  We welcomed friends Megan (2nd AOC hike) and Janeen (1st AOC hike).  I hope they had a very good time and hope to see them on many more hikes.
