A very pleasant group of nine hikers started at Three Forks Gap and took the Benton Mackaye to Springer Mountain. The trail was well maintained and enjoyable - though there were a fair number of trail spider webs! After a relaxing lunch with a nice breeze the group took the AT back to Three Forks. We continued past the cars to Long Creek Falls. The falls were lovely, they cooled the air and many in the group braved the water to enjoy a cold shower. Refreshed, we rolled down hill back to the cars. Lovely hike, lovely people and just a great day all around.
