|
We had 13 fun hikers at Bowmans Island this morning. The sky was overcast the entire hike which kept the temperatures down a bit. It was pretty humid, though, so we stopped several times for water breaks. We covered 6.3 miles with 460 feet of elevation at a pace of 2.7 mph. Job well done folks. Total hike time was 2:18. The trails were in good shape, exept for a few muddy spots along the river. We saw a bunch of deer including a couple of bucks, several does and a couple of spotted fawns. That was really unusual for that time of day at Bowmans. We got lucky. There were also a lot of neat looking mushrooms. It's that time of year.
We welcomed some Newbies on the trail today. Janeen was on her 2nd AOC hike, Margaret was also on her 2nd hike, Megan was on her 4th. Also, a special welcome to Robbie who was back from his months long sabbatical caused by him deciding to break his leg in multiple places. Today was his 8th AOC hike. Welcome to all of you. I hope to see you on many more hikes in the future.
