It was Labor Day, so lots of folks were out hiking and cycling at Sope Creek today. The parking lot was almost full as we arrived, and as we left, cars were parked everywhere.

Due to my failure to make a turn at a crucial point, we hiked longer and farther than I had planned. Our 5 mile hike turned into a 6.8 mile event, and we ended up hiking for about 2 3/4 hours. (I had allotted 2.5 hours for our hike today.) It was a beautiful day, with a nice breeze and mild temperatures . . . so gratefully, no one complained about the extra mileage.

This was a very loyal group. We had a full 15 on our hike all week . . . and no one dropped! We were all vets except for one member, Lynne, who was on her 8th hike today.
