Island Ford was a popular place today with lots of folks hiking, and some rather large groups of hikers. Our group was small . . . just six of us . . . but what a pleasant group we were! We had Kevin (Kev), a brand new AOC member, AJ (Victor's son), and three "vets" - - Victor, Judith, and I. Victor didn't kept a comfortable pace, and he didn't mind when some of us got a little ahead from time to time. The trail was dry and easy to negotiate, and the occasional breeze that greeted us was super refreshing.

Surprisingly, the bathrooms at the Visitor Center were closed due to a water line repair. Hopefully, the repair will be made before tomorrow's Memorial Day crowd!

Kevin, hopefully you'll become a regular on our local hikes. And AJ, it was very nice to meet you. Victor is lucky to have a son to join him on hikes. Thanks for a really enjoyable event, Victor! ~ Joyce
