It was fun to explore a new park today! The trails at Leona Hall Price Park are perfect for a D1 hike. The park itself has about 3 miles of intertwining trails with a big loop trail and many inner trails. We added a little over a mile to our distance by taking the trail under Stilesboro Road, which added an interesting mile to our route, giving us a perfect 4-mile trek. Most of the hike was under tree cover, though the inner meadow trails were in full sun.
We saw lots of Joro spiders as well as some pretty wildflowers as we walked.
It was great to have two newbies on our hike today - - Marylou, who doesn't live too far from the park but didn't know it its existence, and Jan, who lives out of state and was visiting Claudia. This was Lee's 899th event, which puts him right in place for his 900th on Monday.
Thanks to Lee for the photos he added to today's album. ~ Joyce
