Thu, Sep 18 2025 - Thursday Morning Semi-Fitness Hike at Island Ford (View Original Event Details)
| ![]() |
Another fine Thursday morning hike at Island Ford! We had a full group of 15, and covered about 5.7 miles during our 2 hours on the trail. Leaves are beginning to fall, which makes the trails a little more dangerous because of hidden roots, rocks, and holes. Unfortunately, we had two falls today, but thankfully neither was serious.
We welcomed Joe to our Thursday morning hikes today. He is well suited to the hike, managing the pace without a problem and interacting easily with others.
Guess who was first up the warmup hill? Yes, once again, Wally made it without a challenger today.
We saw a big toad by the trail today! Of course, there were lots and lots of Joro spiders by the trails, and Lee got a photo of a big turtle at Hewlett Pond.
Thanks to Lee for the photos he added to the album. They're always so nice for the perspective he has on the hike. ~ Joyce
