Write Up:

It was definitely a perfect day for our hike at Island Ford CRNRA this morning. It was sunny, although we were in the shade most of the time, with temperatures from the mid 70s to the low 80s. What more could you ask for. We had 13 hikers who, due to all their talking and laughing, I think had a good time. I know I did.  The trails were in as good of shape as is normal at Island Ford with lots of loose rocks and roots. We hiked for 6.4 miles with just over 600 feet of elevation at a pace  of almost 2.7 mph.

There was a good bit of scat along the trail, with lots of nuts and berries in it. Some guessed bear while others guessed coyote. Luckily, there were no sightings so we'll never really know.

A special thank you to Joyce and Lee for sending me their pictures of the hike. You can view them by clicking the Album icon above.
