Today's hike was really enjoyable! The weather was good, the pace was comfortable, and we were able to transverse the park from the dog beach to the Bamboo Forest. There are lots of acorns on the trails now, which make slipping and falling a real danger. We had one fall and one dip into the river, but no injuries . . . so all is well.

Thanks to Doug for setting me straight on directions a couple of times. We took a trail that I haven't been on in years. It provided a lot of elevation, which gave us a good workout - - but there was a fork that I didn't remember. Doug knows all the trails, so we didn't go astray.

We saw a Great Blue Heron and some ducks in the river. A beautiful day for swimming and fishing!

The trails at East Palisades are certainly showing wear. Lots more exposed rocks and roots than ever before, creating some rather technical areas!

Thanks to Lee for the photos he added to the album! ~ Joyce
