We had 14 good hikers on our hike at Bowmans Island this morning. We covered 6.1 miles with 450 feet of elevation in 2:20. That's a pace of about 2.7 mph. We saw a group of deer, a blue heron and the tail of something left hanging in a tree by a probable hawk, maybe owl. Eww! We basically reversed our normal route for a completely new perspective. Its amazing how different a trail looks when you reverse course. Several folks decided it was easier this way than the normal way.
I'm pretty sure everyone had a good time.
A special thanks to Joyce and Lee for sharing their great photos of our hike. You can view them by clicking on the Album icon at top right.
