15 hikers braved the chilly, wet conditions for our hike at Hyde Farm/Mulberry Creek this morning. The creek was not high, so our 14 crossings were not challenging. We had some mud, and the trails were wet with a lot of leaves and acorns, but everyone maintained good footing, and we had no falls.

We hiked 5.2 miles with 384 feet of elevation in 2:10 moving time. Our pace was 2.4 mph because everyone was being careful where they put their feet. We hiked down Mulberry Creek, across the ridge trail, down to Johnson Ferry North, up to Morgan Falls Dam, and back across on the lower trail, back up Mulberry Creek and ended with a visit to Hyde Farm. All in all, a somewhat chilly hike that was a lot of fun.

We welcomed Newbies Karen on her 3rd AOC hike and Cheryl on her 4th. They fit in well with the group and I look forward to seeing them on many more hikes in the future.
