It wasn't the best of weather days, but considering the recent rain, I think it was a fine day to hike. The trails were surprisingly dry . . . no mud . . . and though the roots were damp, no one slipped on them or the acorns which were everywhere.

Wally had no competition up the warmup hill today. Everyone was happy just to get to the top.

Not too many photos today because Lee (and Shirley) are preparing for their cruise to Greece tomorrow. Lee always provides such an interesting perspective to the hike, because he takes shots from behind.

In celebration of fall, everyone got a commemorative Autumn leaf rock that I molded out of cement and painted. I hope it reminds them of our beautiful hikes at Island Ford. ~ Joyce
