Day 1 - Over seven miles of trail-free exploring through Bisti's hoodoos, badlands, and petrified wood, easily one of the strangest and most beautiful landscapes I've ever hiked.

Day 2 - Deception Peak and Lake Peak in the Santa Fe National Forest. The route climbs through fir and aspen to open alpine ridgeline, with sweeping views over the Sangre de Cristos.
