The day couldn't have been more perfect for our hike and picnic lunch at Charleston Park (in Cumming, GA). We hiked a bit on the Inner Loop before catching the Outer Loop to finish off our 5.4 miles. The leaves completely covered the trails throughout the hike, but fortunately no one slipped or fell.

Views of the lake were gorgeous. Almost no boat traffic today, so the water was clear and glassy.

We saw a little garter snake (I think it was a garter snake) and a dog with eyes that were hypnotic. Our picnic lunch by Lake Lanier after the hike so nice. We chatted and shared food for about an hour.

Not a single cyclist was on the trails today! I've found that to be the case on all of my Monday hikes at Charleston Park. ~ Joyce
