We had 15 fun hikers on our hike at Island Ford this morning. We started out by hiking the Lollipop Trail, then the lower trails, around the pond, to the Visitor Center and then back up to the Island Ferry parking lot. We hiked a total of 6.4 miles with just under 700 feet of elevation in 2:40 which included and extended stay at the Visitor Center. We saw a lot of the trees they cut down a couple of weeks ago. Speaking of which, at this time all trails are open and will stay that way until 1/05/26 when the entire park, except for the Visitor Center, will close for the renovation project, which is hoped to be completed by Spring. We had no falls, and everyone was able to maintain pace for the entire hike. Judging from all the jibber jabber and laughing, I think everyone had a good time.
