Mon, Jan 19 2026 - Monday Morning at West Palisades from Akers Mill Road Entrance (View Original Event Details)

Today's hike was so pleasant. Though chilly at the start, by the time we got to the bathroom at the main park entrance, we were ready to shed our coats and gloves. We kept up a nice pace and ultimately covered 5 miles in just over 2 hours.
We had a nice group of newbies and new-to-our-regular folks. Diana and Ifieoma were brand new members, and good friends of each other's. They are young and pretty, and were quite fit for the event. Shaka and Srini, our new gentleman friends, both have a little over 10 events with the club, so though they were new to most of the group, they're becoming regulars. Hopefully, we'll see more of these four on future hikes.
Because today was the MLK holiday, we were joined by several working members who don't usually make our Monday hikes. I enjoyed hiking with this interesting mixture of people!
Thanks to Lee for adding me to the hike with his photo, and for providing his GPS tracking. ~ Joyce
