There were 5 hikers this morning who enjoyed a beautiful and warm February day at Sope Creek-Cochran Shoals. We hiked the Sope Creek section and then south through a flat section of Cochran Shoals and then into the hills at the southern-most section of Cochran Shoals. Then headed back to the Sope Creek trails.
We hiked ~9.4 miles with an elevation gain of around 1000 ft. With a small group who kept together and were up for it, we went slightly faster than planned at an average pace of ~3 MPH.
We welcomed Rex who recently joined the AOC. It was my first time hiking with Rex and Fay and 2nd time with Joy and Jim but we had lots of nice conversations nonetheless.
Thanks to all who joined me for my 2nd solo hike. Special thanks to Joyce T. for her great advice and mentoring me during my training and for her patience with my endless questions and babbling emails.
