We had a great but cold hike to Standing Indian Wednesday. While the prediction was for temperatures from the mid-30s to mid-40s and dry, it was foggy and as we climbed the temperature dropped. Then it began to lightly rain. When the rain started we turned around and found the temperature rose dramatically as we descended. The Deep Gap Branch Trail was beautiful but not very well maintained. Quite a few water crossings, but no one got wet feet! It was nice enough on this unusual approach to Standing Indian that we all agreed it would be worth repeating, when it isn't cold and rainy!
