Sat, Jul 25 2026 - Beginner/Horizontal Caving Trip to Tumbling Rock (Alabama) (View Original Event Details)
|
Six Atlanta Outdoor Club members had a great time at Tumbling Rock Cave on Saturday. The cave has a variety of historical and natural features such as the remains of Salt-peter mining from the 1700's to 1800's, which we visited. We also viewed some beautiful stalactite and stalagmite formations, as well as a 400-foot tall shaft with a waterfall, known as Topless Dome. The cave also features a variety of breakdown that we climbed over -- and some tight spaces that we squeezed through! It was a blast and a great work-out!
It was a great event with great people! Ready to do it again!
