This was a great way to start and energize on Sunday morning. Our East Palisades Explorer Hike turned into a true little adventure. The rain and many new streams only made the trail more exciting. A group of seven, Delores, Page, Angela B., brand‑new member Ron G., Ira, Fay, and TL Erica B. took on the wet, washed‑out paths with a steady pace and an excellent sense of adventure.
We made our way through slick sections, muddy climbs, and fast‑moving runoff to reach the Bamboo Forest, which looked especially lush in the rain. The trails along the Chattahoochee were beautiful, with the river running high and full. Even with the weather, the group stayed connected, supportive, and ready for whatever the trail brought. 
Congrats and an AOC welcome go out to Ron G. on completing his first of many AOC adventures. Thanks, hikers, for the great energy, great company, and a memorable Sunday morning on the trail. Looking forward to the next one.
