After a beautiful sunrise and another nice meal, we split into three groups. One group led by me went to Springer Mountain via the Appalachian Approach Trail, the second group, led Sue went to the shelter on the Appalachian Approach Trail. The third group had relaxing day at the Hike Inn. After another nice dinner we had a presentation on the Arachnids of Georgia and specify of those around the Hike Inn, the medical uses and tales about them in history by Hike Inn Naturalist Callan. This kid did a great presentation. We had another relaxing evening view of the Eastern Appalachian Mountains.

About 5 minutes from the Hike Inn with me leading and Amanda behind me, we saw a bear cross the trail 50 to 60 feet ahead of us. I happened to fast for me to get a picture. As we stopped of lunch at the Springer Mountain marker a hiker returning pointed out that we would be sharing the spot with a Timber Rattlesnake, it was below us on some rocks. Sue group met an interesting young man maned Brandon who was taking care of the trails.
