We ended up with 9 determined hikers this morning at Bowmans Island. They refused to give in to the nay sayer weather forecasts that were determined to scare us off with threats of thunderstorms. We were ready to skeedaddle back to the cars at the first thunder clap, but none came. We didn't get any rain until the last 200 feet of the hike. That was under trees, so we didn't feel it until we got into the parking lot.  It had stopped rainning by the time I got out of the park.

We hiked 6.5 miles with 450 feet of elevation in just over 2 1/2 hours. The trails were pretty muddy and had tricky footing in places. We had one butt bouncer, but with no serious damage. Hike well done folks. 

We welcomed Jeri on her 4th AOC hike. She fit in well with the group and we hope to see her on many more hikes in the future.
