Our introductions included some reminiscing by all about our favorite childhood summer memories. We completed the full Cherokee Trail including both steep sections near the walk-up trail, feeling grateful for dry granite. We had plenty of time at the top to find our little auditorium where we relaxed and savored the sunset show. Walking down, we veered off into the woods to escape the solstice crowd. We were joined by fireflies and serenaded by a Chuck-will's-widow before we emerged from the trees to get a clear view of the waxing first quarter moon. We were also treated to the sight of Mercury, Venus and Jupiter to guide us back to the finish line.

What a great group of folks we had on this event! Thank you to Clay for the wet wipes to cleanse our hands after touching the railing on the "steep part." Congrats to Sharanya for her first-ever summit of Stone Mountain. And thanks to all of you for the excellent cameraderie on the trail. Until next time...
