A terrific morning in celebration of Lee's 1,000th AOC event! The weather was very cooperative, keeping us under cloud cover for most of the hike, with even an occasional light breeze. Because of last night's rain and the overcast skies, our hiking temperature didn't climb much above the 80's. We sweated a bit, but not much, and we completed the 5 miles in just over 2 hours.

Following the hike, we gathered in the pavilion at Groveway Park where Shirley was waiting for us with a beautifully set table of goodies to which the rest of us added our contributions. It was great to hang around to eat and talk, and to congratulate Lee for his amazing milestone. Dr. Barbara joined the group to catch up with friends and to honor Lee. She even brought home-made cookies despite not having hiked with us - - three varieties!
