We parked at the Pigeon Hill parking lot and checked in. We did an explanation of today’s workplan, and In addition to us we had 10 volunteers from Allatoona JROTC, The Atlanta Outdoor Club, and individuals that helped. We also had 6 other crew leaders, 4 ambassadors handling registration and parking. We picked up our tools and headed for the back side of Little Kennesaw Mountain carrying our tools across Pigeon Hill and about halfway up Little Kennesaw Mountain.
We repaired the steps at two locations on the back side of Little Kennesaw Mountain starting at the switchback and a second location about 70 feet further up the mountain. Joyce directed visitors that were going up the mountain and Marie-Felix directed visitors that were going down the mountain, both also helped build the steps. Samuel assisted building the lower step and Kirsten assisted supervising the building the upper step. Mike roamed between the two groups, ensuring they were working safely and following the workplan.
Thanks to Samuel for joining us on his second event.
