The weather cooperated and put off the thunderstorms till the afternoon so that we were able to celebrate Gloria's 800th AOC event appropriately! It was a successful event, though a reminder why I don't post hikes at Gold Branch very often: the trails are extremely technical with tons of roots, narrow trails, sketchy rocks, and challenging footing. Thankfully, our moderate pace enabled us to complete the hike without any injuries or falls.

Gloria provided a tailgate party which was supplemented by items brought by members of the hike. What a scrumptious array of cake, muffins, fruit, cheese, crackers, candy, and sparkling apple juice.
