We had 11 hikers at Bowmans Island on Tuesday morning. It was pretty sunny, with temperatures in the 80s and high humidity. We made more water stops than usual and I think everybody had a pretty good time. We coverd 6.5 miles with with 466 feet of elevation in 2:26. That's our normal pace of 2.7 mph. A hike well done.  We did, unfortunately, encounter at Yellow Jacket nest on the side of the trail. Those of us in front stirred them up so that they could sting the last 4 people when they passed by. Another good reason to hike in the front of the pack.  We welcomed Newbies Beth and Jessica who were both on their 6th AOC hike. We also welcomed back Rodi who already had 14 hikes, but this was his first one since May of 2021.
