Write Up:
Eleven of us trekked 13 miles on the Springer Mountain Loop, which consists of parts of the Appalachian Trail and the Benton MacKaye Trail, between Springer Mountain and Long Creek Falls. We enjoyed the nice fall weather. This route has a bit of everything: long range views from mountaintops, a waterfall, lush rhododendron tunnels, gurgling creeks, and secluded glades of tall trees and ferns.
