A warm and cloudy day. We started at Johnson Ferry North, headed for Morgan Falls via the three loop trails going along the river for a view of the dam. The trail was overgrown and the edges needed trimmed. There were places where I had trouble finding the trail, see the pictures. I had planned to take the trail to view Morgan Falls. I could not locate the trail. I skipped going to Morgan Falls and we headed up the hill to Hyde Farm. To make up for some of the missed distance we looped around Hyde Farm and stopped for a break at the Hyde Farm parking lot before heading down Mulberry Creek to our parking lot. Mulberry Creek was the lowest I can remember. The next to the last creek crossing has gotten bad with the last crossing being only slightly better.

The tree growth we saw is called by two names either Witch’s Broom or Witch’s Nest.

I checked my records. The last time I led this hike was 5/16/26. I am posting a picture alongside one I took of the trail today.
